Hi, I’m Olena Bloomfield and this is the website where my art lives.

I’m inspired deeply by the colours of nature, Australian coastal line, by serenity and movement of the ocean, by the seasonal change and surrounding textures, by the effects of light and how this creates different atmospheres and moods.

A good painting is a visual story that keeps on capturing the beholder’s eye, provokes imagination and new feelings time after time. I believe pure realism does not exist because the impression it causes depends on circumstances, settings, illumination, interpretation, taste and the mood of the viewer.
I classify my work as an ‘ alternative realism ‘ – realism with an alter ego.
